Dusty has had the pleasure to document weddings in some of the most prestigious venues in Michigan including The Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, The Public Museum of Grand Rapids, Cascade Hills Country Club, Fredrick Meijer Gardens, Watermark Country Club, Grand Haven Country Club, Traverse City Country Club, The Homestead in Glen Arbor, The Bay Harbor Resort in Petosky.
I started my photography career as a commercial and advertising photographer in my hometown more than 15 years ago. Back then “digital photography” was just starting and being a photographer at a large multi-billion dollar company had its advantages, and pursuing digital was one of them. After the “downsize” of the entire staff I was forced to take on photography where ever I could. Having done one Grand Rapids wedding with a photographer friend I knew from that day what I really loved. I was HOOKED! I loved the people, the excitement, the details, the love and happiness. The word spread about my work and before I knew it I was booking weddings like crazy! Adding Seniors and family portraits along the way was a natural progression. I like to keep the amount of weddings to around 20 per year. This keeps our creativity fresh and our love for it strong. I usually photograph 50-70 Seniors each year and around 20-40 family session….including babies. Advertising photography is still a huge part of my career doing 15-30 jobs each year.
